The NY Adoption Mailing List

Our NY Adoption List is
private, meaning messages can only be read by list members. It is
not "open" for all to see. The focus of the list is to
help those whose search relates to an adoption in New York State.
It doesn't matter if you are an adoptee, a birthparent, a birth
sibling, or simply a friend of someone searching. There are
others just like you on the list ready to welcome you.
If you have never belonged to
an internet mailing list before you may be in for a surprise. We
have more than 500 members in our group. When someone sends a
message to the list, everyone gets it. Often this can add up to a
hundred or more messages over the course of a day. Some will be
of interest, others will not, but by joining this
"family" you will find that you have become a part of
something special. More importantly, you will learn that there
are others out there just like you, others who understand in ways
that cannot be described to those not touched by adoption. Our
list has had 819 finds as of 01/25/04 and it has been because of
the efforts of those on the list to help each other.
The list also comes in digest
form if you prefer. The digest comes to your email box after
about 7 - 10 messages have gone to the list. You may receive up
to 4 or 5 of them each day depending on the amount of mail to the
list. Be sure to specify if that is your preference.
Before you can be added to the
list I need some specific information. This information will be
kept confidential. Once I receive that I will add your e-mail
account so that you receive list mail and the list computer will
accept your postings.

joining the list please email me at: nyamom@atmc.net and I will send you a form to fill out
with information that I require before allowing you to join our
list.
****NOTE: Due to problems that I have encountered with
hotmail and MSN addresses I am no longer accepting either of
these as an address for list mail. If you use either of these,
please set up an email account with yahoo.com or another email
service if you wish to join the list.
